A good beachside hotel in Mumbai should give you the sea without cutting you off from the city. In Juhu, Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Palm Grove does exactly that: Juhu Beach at its doorstep, sea view rooms and a pool facing the Arabian Sea, all 6 km from the international airport. It also holds a 5 Star Gradation Certificate from the Ministry of Tourism.
Friday, 7 pm. The work laptop is closed. Shut. Done. You’re sitting by a pool with the Arabian Sea right there, sky going pink, and a mocktail sweating gently in your hand. Somewhere behind you, the city is still honking. You can barely hear it.
I’ll admit something. For years I thought a beach holiday meant a flight, a bag that never zips, and at least one argument at security about the size of my shampoo. Then a friend asked why I kept leaving Mumbai to find a beach, when the city sits right by the sea. I didn’t have a good answer. Still don’t, really.
The hotel industry has noticed the same thing. Horwath HTL’s India Hotel Market Review 2025 found Mumbai led every Indian city in hotel occupancy at 77.1%. But it also flagged that the city loses roughly a quarter of the year to the monsoon, and that Mumbai needs to grow its weekend and off-season leisure business (Horwath HTL, 2026).
The same report listed weekend getaways as a key opportunity for business cities, noting there aren’t many on offer. Translation? A beachside hotel inside the city, one you can reach after work on a Friday, fits neatly into that gap. No flights. No packing panic. Just a short drive and a sea view.
Calling a hotel “beachside” is easy. Earning it takes a bit more. My checklist:
The hotel’s fact sheet lists Juhu Beach at the doorstep, with direct beach access. It sits on Juhu Tara Road, next to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Statue. It’s a Ministry of Tourism certified 5 star hotel, part of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and managed by K. Raheja Hospitality.
Across 115 rooms and suites, the sea facing choices are clear. Premium Partial Sea View Rooms give you a glimpse of the water. The Executive Salon and Deluxe Suite offer panoramic sea views, each with a bathtub, and the Deluxe Suite adds a separate living area. If you’re coming for the view, these are the ones to book. Deluxe Rooms, for the record, face the city.
The outdoor pool faces the Arabian Sea, and the Poolside Patio next to it serves mocktails and the hotel’s Sunday poolside brunch. Shooters Bar handles evening cocktails, Oriental Bowl does Pan Asian cuisine, and Tangerine Cafe is open 24 hours. There’s also a gym with sea views, a steam room and jacuzzi.
The airport is 6 km away, around 15 to 25 minutes by car, per the hotel. Vile Parle station is 3 km away and Versova Metro is at 3.5 km. So the beach weekend doesn’t have to end with a two-hour drive home.
A few reviews are featured on the hotel’s website. Deepak Anand writes that he and his wife have made it their preferred stay whenever they visit Mumbai, and that they’ve enjoyed the breakfast buffet as well as the Chinese food at Oriental Bowl.
Bharat, who stayed with family, wrote: “I would like to thank all the Staff and management at Ramada hotel for their Services and Support to our family during our stay.” Another guest praised the warm, attentive staff and good food, and said they’d definitely be back.
At the time of writing, the hotel lists 35% off on weekend stays, up to 35% off on long stays, a Celebration Package and a seasonal Monsoon Package. These change, so check the official website for what’s live. The hotel says direct booking gets you its best rate guarantee.
Yes. The hotel’s fact sheet lists Juhu Beach at its doorstep with direct beach access.
The Premium Partial Sea View Rooms, the Executive Salon and the Deluxe Suite. The last two have panoramic sea views.
There is. The outdoor pool faces the Arabian Sea, with the Poolside Patio right beside it.
For many Mumbaikars, yes. It’s a beach stay inside the city, and at the time of writing there’s a weekend offer of 35% off.
About 6 km, or 15 to 25 minutes by car, per the hotel.
