The Odyssey becomes Christopher Nolan’s highest-grossing film in India

The Odyssey has become Christopher Nolan’s highest-grossing film in India, crossing Rs 138 crore net at the domestic box office in 15 days and surpassing the director’s previous record set by Oppenheimer.

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film added around Rs 3 crore on Day 15 (Friday, July 31, 2026), taking its India net collection to approximately Rs 138.40 crore since its release on July 17.

Oppenheimer had earned Rs 129 crore net in India during its full theatrical run, a tally that made it the 13th Hollywood film to cross the Rs 100 crore net mark in the country at the time.

The milestone arrived close to Nolan’s birthday on July 30, giving the achievement added significance for trade watchers who track the director’s box office history in India.

The Odyssey stars an ensemble cast including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o and Charlize Theron.

Trade observers note that while The Odyssey has now generated more revenue in India than Oppenheimer, Oppenheimer recorded higher overall footfalls during its run, reflecting differences in ticket pricing and premium-format viewership between the two releases.
