India are set to name their Test squad for next month’s two-match tour of Sri Lanka, with the fitness of senior all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja among the central points at the selection meeting.
Jadeja has been recovering from a tennis elbow injury picked up during IPL 2026, and there has been no official word yet on his recovery timeline or full fitness.
Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness is also under the selectors’ watch. Both Jadeja and Bumrah missed India’s one-off Test against Afghanistan.
Despite the uncertainty, Jadeja is understood to be in line for a return to the Test side, given the value of his all-round skills against Sri Lanka.
The two-Test series opens with the first match at Galle on August 15, followed by the second Test in Colombo from August 23.
India currently sit fifth in the World Test Championship standings heading into the series.
