A low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal is set to intensify into a deep depression on September 22, bringing heavy to very heavy rain to coastal Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, with winds gusting to 70 kmph.
The IMD has forecast heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds across 13 states on September 21, including coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Odisha and Chhattisgarh, with winds of 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph.
The IMD has issued heavy rain alerts for 19 states, warning of flash flood risk in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, with gusty winds up to 65 km/h.
The IMD has issued an orange alert for very heavy rainfall in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, with Delhi-NCR expecting overcast skies and light-to-moderate rain through Sunday.
The IMD has warned of heavy rain and gusty winds up to 85 kmph across 12 states including Delhi, UP and Bihar on August 2, with Bihar under yellow alert.
